As a Tacoma newborn hospital photographer, I have the honor of photographing babies just hours after they make their appearance! It is always such a joy walking into a family’s room and seeing them interact as a family for the first time – sometimes they are first time parents, sometimes they are seasoned parents, and sometimes there are eager siblings present!
When I walked into Madigan Army Medical Center to document Miss Addison’s first48 session (also referred to as a fresh48 or newborn hospital session), it was a bit nostalgic! I gave birth to my son there just five short months ago, and although I have been back since for classes and checkups, this was my first time going back as a photographer. As I walked down the hall and into the mother/baby unit, I reminsced on those early hours and what it was like to be first time parents.
As soon as I walked in, I knew that Meghan and Anthony were going to be amazing parents – they were complete naturals! Meghan shared their birth story with me as I documented them as a family of 3. You did a great job, Mama! It’s these moments that make me appreciate just how special my job is and how important it is to have these memories documented. Our babies are only this tiny once and they change so, so fast.
Meghan and Anthony, thank you for letting me document part of Addison’s story. She is absolutely beautiful and I am thrilled for you three. Congratulations!
