Oh my goodness, the anticipation for the arrival of Sawyer girl had everyone on the edge of their seats! The grandparents and aunts-to-be were awaiting the “it’s time” call so they could hop on a plane and start making their way. Meanwhile, I was in constant communication with Mama as we were trying to determine if I would be able to make the birth as I was recovering from being sick.
Fast forward 48 hours, the grandparents decided to skip the plane and made the drive, Aunt Lindsay flew in just in time, and I was officially fever free for 72 hours. But most importantly it appeared as if it was go time and Kirstey let me know she was headed to the hospital. It wasn’t long before she texted to let me know she was 5cm and was being admitted. Knowing I had an hour drive I decided to head to the hospital. Thank God I did because when I texted to let her know that I was parking she said, “hurry, I am a 9.”
There was no time for laboring photos at that point and the hospital didn’t allow for any delivery photos. Grandpa and I waited in the hall until we were allowed in. And oh my, the instant we walked into the room the joy and love was overwhelming in the best way possible. Welcome sweet Sawyer girl, this is your birth story.
